9 . Peek- a - boo !

Sue was trying hard to figure out how she could use the vial of holy water. The vial wasn't much big , it was about the size of her palm which meant that she could not afford wasting even a single drop of it. It was already dark outside and the moon appeared a bit unusual today. That was when it struck her, it was the day of Lunar Eclipse .... the day of her Demise .....But Sue had decided that she would not give up without putting up a proper fight. As she was engrossed in her thoughts , she hear a loud crash and a faint whisper. She could make out what the sound was , it was the sound of a plate crashing on the floor. But she wasn't sure of the whisper. Sue kept the vial on the wooden chest and pushed it back under the bed. She got up and leaned closer to the door trying to listen carefully.
 CRASH ! .........2
Then there was a long pause ......
CRASH ! ..........3
The phantom was pushing down the plates and counting along with it. With every crash , the serpent mark on her neck began to glow red hurting her in the process. Sue had to do something , before the phantom possessed her body once again. But she could not get her thoughts straight , with every crash the pain was growing and so was her fear. Her legs felt weak and she could hardly move.
CRASH ! ..........13
It was the 13th crash and then, nothing............ There was a long pause , longer then before. Sue stood still , shocked from the sudden silence . The mark on her neck too stopped glowing. But the silence was getting on her nerves. Did the phantom go away ? Is he coming upstairs ? Or is he plotting something ? several thoughts crossed her mind as she stood there like a statue.
Sue swallowed hard as she opened the door just enough to peek outside. There was no sign of the phantom. Sue came out of her bedroom and stood on the staircase eyeing all the broken plates. Just what was this phantom plotting ? she wondered. Suddenly out of the blue Sue felt a cold sensation on her neck which made her almost jump losing her balance at the same time. Sue tripped down the stairs landing in the shards of broken plates.
                            
Her head felt dizzy and her vision got blur. Before she came back to her senses the phantom appeared beside her laughing wildly.
" What a great entertainment you are !" he laughed.
" Oh I know ! Lets have some fun before the ritual "  he grinned with a shady expression.
Sue trembled with fear as he leaned closer.
" Aww is little Sue scared ? " he said cupping her face with his hands " I like it when you're scared " he said as he licked her cheek and let out a creepy laugh.
                         
Sue somehow managed to free herself from his grasp and dashed towards the living room . The living room was still covered with glass shards but this time Sue did not have any time to worry about stepping on the glass shards . She quickly hid behind the sofa not knowing what to do .
"Ah , so you wanna play hide and seek now..........I'm gonna tear you into pieces once I find you !"
he said as he walked towards the sofa.
Sue had to do something , she could not hide longer from that monster. Her heart raced as the footsteps grew closer. Then suddenly the footsteps ceased engulfing the entire house into deadly silence. The only sound that Sue could hear was her own breathing and the sound of water dripping in the kitchen. Sue clenched her fist as she stood up to face the  phantom but he was no where to be seen. Sue froze dead in her tracks , sweat dripping down her forehead as she heard his voice right behind her ........
" PEEK - A - BOO !"

      Obviously sue will manage to douse the evil spirit with holy water! Now the real question is how she will pull off this seemingly impossible task!!

      The Phantom took Sue for the Ritual -whatever it is- I guess?
      I mean no one (except for you 😁) knows...
      I though think that he won't kill Sue but kidnapp her but James saves her as 4 days are about to end... I myself would like a happy ending for this story 🤗

Mark sipped his coffee as he sat at the counter,legs crossed wondering about his love life. He was in his mid-twenties and helped his dad run a little pawn shop that his dad owned. He would usually be out gambling at some club but when his father was out he would look after their shop. 4 Days ago.... "Honey , where is my blue tie ? I can't find it !!" said James as he was searching his wardrobe frantically. "It's right there ." said Sue as she stood at the door, hands crossed at her chest. " Where ???? I can't find it !!!"said James tossing out other ties . "Ooww!" Sue cried as she clutched her head. She felt as of thousands of needles were pricking her. She was surprised to find herself on the living room floor. Strange.............. she thought. She could not remember coming home. She remembered going to the supermarket and then at the pawn shop but could not figure out what happened on her way back home. It was as if her memory was erased............... Sue scratched her head thinking hard about how she'd passed out on the floor. Was she drunk the night before? Or did she bump into something and knocked herself out ? As she was thinking , something caught her eye. It was the little black bag from the pawn shop. Sue trembled with fear as she felt the presence of someone standing behind her. The blood continued to gush out from her neck as she tried to stop it with her hand , her heart was throbbing louder than usual and sweat beads formed near her brow. Sue was so scared that she felt as if her legs were paralysed making her unable to move. Suddenly the tense situation was broken with the sudden revival of the T.V . Sue threw the flower vase which she was holding so long in the direction of the T.V breaking the screen into thousands of shards. 7 . History repeats itself

Sue fell asleep , tired from all the crying. Her nose was red and her eyes sore from all the sobbing. All that was happening with her seemed a bit familiar but she wasn't quite sure about this feeling. The house was still and everything was quite. The rush outside had died and it was deserted outside , one could hear nothing but the rustling of leaves as the wind passed by.                  Sue found herself in an odd but familiar place. She thought she had fallen asleep a while ago but there she was , in a place that she could never forget. It was her Grandpa's old mansion where she had spent her childhood.Unsure of what to do Sue roamed in the mansion letting all the memories bathe her. And then she saw the wooden chest on her Grandpa's study lying undisturbed. She remembered how mad her Grandpa became when she tried to open that chest when she was younger. Sue sat on her bed biting her lip as she recalled the previous night's events. She could not believe herself as all the events seemed total bizarre................was she going crazy ? But that didn't explain the Serpent mark on her neck...................... She was confused but more than that she was scared. The way James' face changed into that horrible creature had made her heart skip a beat. She was experiencing unimaginable things , things that were far away from any kind of fantasy .Even if she tried telling someone , no one would believe her let alone help. The only person who could soothe her was James , but at this moment he was miles away...........and even if he tried to come back he could not make it before nightfall. Before she could process what she'd discovered , she felt as if something was pulling her downwards. When she looked down to see what was wrong she found herself stuck in a quicksand and was sinking deeper into it with each passing second. How did she get caught into quicksand when she was standing in her grandpa's study ? she thought as she took a view around her , the walls of the room were melting into sand revealing the darkness behind them. The sand was increasing and she was sinking deeper into it. Panicked, she began struggling to get out of there , she looked around her to find something to hold onto , something that could pull her out of the sand but where ever she turned for help she was faced by darkness and nothing else. She felt as if she was caged inside a sand hourglass ............ Soon she was covered by sand and she felt the air escaping her lungs. With the last breath inside her she mouthed the words " J..a..m..e..s.."

                                           James checked himself in the mirror one last time. He was ready for the final presentation. He smiled to himself as he recalled Sue's smiling face wishing him good luck . It had been just 3 days away from home but it felt as if they had been apart for years. His smile grew wider as he realized that he would be in a plane flying back home in about 4 hours,back to where he truly belonged, in the arms of his love. He picked up his phone from the dresser and dialed Sue's number hoping to hear her voice before his final presentation . The line clicked , signalling that that the call had been received.
